The foundation of To the Stars Occupational Therapy and Wellness Centre is the amazing people on our team. We pride ourselves in connecting the latest research with experience and creative, out of the box thinking. We have 4 experienced occupational therapists, an amazing office administrator and a few special guest facilitators that run our programs. We have expanded to offer many new programs that support our vision to empower families.
Kari Lotzien - Occupational Therapist, Owner
To the Stars Occupational Therapy and Wellness Centre had been a dream of mine for many years. I started my occupational therapy career in 1998 with a passion for working with children and families. I worked as a pediatric occupational therapist with Alberta Health Services for 5 years and then moved into school based service. I started my private practice in 2002 with a focus on home and school based occupational therapy. This work sparked my desire to create a space where people could come and receive occupational therapy services that were driven by wellness and connection with others. I love sharing my passion and knowledge with others through direct service and workshops. When I stand in a room with a large group of people, knowing that each of them have the power to connect and reach so many kids, I often become emotional. This my friends, is exactly how we will change the world for kids.
I believe that if we create a space for people of all ages to connect, learn and grow, we will create environments where children will flourish. With a dream and the support (and muscle power) of my incredible family, we opened our doors in March of 2012. It didn’t take long to realize that To the Stars OT and Wellness Centre was going to be something special.
In my spare time, I love walking in nature, camping and being with family.

Jackie Brooks - Occupational Therapist
I believe Occupational Therapy is a diverse and unique profession which inspires me to be continuously growing and learning. Before joining the To The Stars Team in January 2015, I worked as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with Alberta Health Service for seven years. During this time I primarily provided school based services for children in Pre-kindergarten to middle school. My passion for working with children has not only included Occupational Therapy as I also have ten years of experience coaching gymnastics. I hope to one day bring together my passions for Occupational Therapy and gymnastics.
In my spare time, I love camping, fishing and a good adventure.
Lindsy Niles - Occupational Therapist
I graduated from the University of Alberta with my Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in the fall of 2016. I moved out here to Alberta in May of 2014 after completing my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Acadia University in Nova Scotia. Even while completing my undergrad I knew I wanted to one day have a career working with kids. I coached, ran afterschool programs, summer camps, and volunteered one on one with children with special needs for a number of years while completing my education. I was thrilled to join the To The Stars Team in November 2016 and have loved getting to know central Alberta, and all the amazing kids I am working with.
In my spare time, I enjoy camping, reading, and visiting my family in New Brunswick whenever I get the chance.
Sheri Stein - Office Manager, Customer Relations
I started working for To The Stars Occupational Therapy & Wellness Centre in 2015. Every day I am excited to come to work, not only because I have an amazing boss and great team, but because of the wonderful clientele that comes through our door.
I am a mom of 5 and grandma of 2 (which is super fun). I, along with my husband and children, have called Lacombe home for the past 11 years. In my free time, I live for camping, fishing, boating and getting muddy every chance I have.
